Chemistry

The Sun is what's known as a star - a star is formed when large amounts of matter are pulled together by each other's gravity and the temperature reaches a point where nuclear reactions can start happening. In our sun, what's happening is that hydrogen is being fused into other atoms such as helium. Doing this lets off a large amount of heat and light.

Is that decent?

If NaCl has a mass of 3.2g, what is the volume of chlorine gas at STP?
Shalnov [3]

Hey there!

Molar mass NaCl = 58.44 g/mol

58.44 g ----------------- 22.4 ( at STP )

3.2 g -------------------- Volume ??

Volume = ( 3.2 x 22.4 )  / 58.44

Volume = 71.68 / 58.44

Volume = 1.226 L

Hope this helps!

What happens when nitrogen fills its valence shell?
RSB [31]
Hello!

Like many other elements in chemistry, when an atom's valence shell is filled the element becomes stable. Through the octet rule we know that when the very last valence shell becomes filled, the atom is stable and therefore it is highly unlikely for the element to form bonds with that of another.

I hope this helped!
