Jim provides photos for two online sites: site A and site B. Site A pays $0.85 for every photo Jim provides. The amount in dolla

rs (y) site B pays as a function of the number of photos provided (x) is represented by the equation y = 0.40x. How much more was Jim paid at site A than at site B, if he provided five photos for each site?

We can use the same equation to figure out with only substituting the amount he was paid per photo.

Site A    y = $0.85x      =  $0.85(5)  =  $4.25
Site B    y = $0.40x      =  $0.40(5)  =  $2.00

We can see that Jim was paid $2.25 more at site A than Site B.

Gnom [1K]

Answer:

9 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

let x be the required  distance.

\frac{760}{x} =tan~ 89^\circ18 '\\x=\frac{760}{tan~89^\circ 18' } =\frac{760}{tan~89 \frac{18}{60}} =\frac{760}{tan~89.3^\circ} \\or~x \approx 9~ft

Which graph represents the solution set of -2y > 7x + 4?
Firdavs [7]

The equation of a line in point-slope form is expressed as:

y = mx + b

  • m is the slope of the line
  • b is the y-intercept

Given the inequality -2y > 7x + 4, this can also be expressed as:

-2y > 7x + 4

y < -7/2x -4/2

y< -7/2x - 2

This shows that the line will be a dashed line and cuts the y-axis at y= -2

Translate the following verbal statement into an algebraic expression. Use x for your variable.
mafiozo [28]

Answer:

<u>x²/11 + 8</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

We can decipher this algebraic expression going step by step.

1) "Eight more", meaning +8 (we can add this on later).

2) The "quotient of a number (x) squared and eleven", a quotient by definition means the answer to a quantity divided by another. The quantity in this case being x² divided by 11 (so, x²/11).

3) We can combine both of these, getting x²/11 + 8.

Your expression is x²/11 + 8.

- Similarly, you could reposition this equation like 8 + x²/11 (due to the communicative property of addition). Both answers would be acceptable.
