Answer: Ultraviolet Radiation

Explanation: Ultraviolet Radiation is the kind of electromagnetic radiation having wavelength in the range of 10 nm to 400 nm. It is shorter than the visible light.

The prime and major source of these radiations is the Sun. These radiations have some advantages as well as these are used for the security purposes but these advantages are negated with the impact they have on living beings.

These radiations attacks directly the DNA of the cells of the skin and can cause fatal and an incurable disease like cancer.

Consider the reaction below. Which species is(are) the Brønsted-Lowry acid(s)?
madreJ [45]

Answer:

HF is the acid

Explanation:

The Brønsted-Lowry theory defines the acids and bases in chemistry as follows:

An acid is the species that can donate a proton

A base can accept protons.

In the reaction:

HF(aq) + NH₃(aq) → NH₄⁺(aq) + F⁻(aq)

As you can see, HF can donate its proton to produce F⁻: HF is the acid

In the same way, NH₃ is accepting a proton, NH₃ is the base.

Calculate the amount of heat needed to boil 64.7 g of benzene (C6H6), beginning from a temperature of 41.9 C . Round your answer
JulsSmile [24]

Answer: The amount of heat needed is = 4.3kJ

Explanation:

Amount of heat H = M × C × ΔT

M= mass of benzene = 64.7g

C= specific heat capacity = 1.74J/gK

ΔT = T2-T1

Where T1 is initai temperature = 41.9C

T2 is the final temperature( boiling point of benzene) = 80.1C

H= 64.7×1.74×80.7

H= 4300J

H=4.3kJ

Therefore, the amount of heat needed is 4.3kJ

Balance the chemical equation using the drop-down options.
ryzh [129]

Answer:

CaC2 + 2H20 ⇋Ca(OH)2 + C2H2

Explanation:

CaC2 + A H20 ---> Ca(OH)2 + A C2H2

This is calcium carbide reacting with water to produce calcium hydroxide and ethyne commonly called acetylene.

Let's now balance the equation.

CaC2 + 2H20 ⇋Ca(OH)2 + C2H2
