According to the law of reflection, When a ray of light passes from rarer medium to denser medium , it bends towards the normal. So, if there is a transparent material that is more dense than glass then the ray of light will bend towards the normal. The direction of light through the medium is predicted by Snell's Law. According to the Snell's law:

n₁ sin θ₁ = n₂ sin θ₂

Where n₁ is the refractive index of the first medium

n₂ is the refractive index of second medium.

θ₁ and θ₂ are the angle of incidence of light in medium 1 and medium 2

The 20 g bullet is traveling at 400 m/s when it becomes embedded in the 2 -kg stationary block. Determine the distance the block
Marina CMI [18]

Answer:

The block+bullet system moves 4 m before being stopped by the frictional force.

Explanation:

Using the law of conservation of llinear momentum and the work energy theorem, we can obtain this.

According to Newton's second law of motion

Momentum before collision = Momentum after collision

Momentum before collision = (0.02×400) + 0 (stationary block)

Momentum before collision = 8 kgm/s

Momentum after collision = (2+0.02)v

8 = 2.02v

v = 3.96 m/s.

According to the work-energy theorem,

The kinetic energy of the block+bullet system = work done by Friction to stop the motion of the block+bullet system

Kinetic energy = (1/2)(2.02)(3.96²) = 15.84 J

Work done by the frictional force = F × (distance moved by the force)

F = μmg = 0.2(2.02)(9.8) = 3.96 N

3.96d = 15.84

d = (15.84/3.96) = 4 m

An oscillating dipole antenna 1.73 m long with a maximum 36.0 mV potential creates a 500 Hz electromagnetic wave. (a) What is th
sergejj [24]

Answer:

E_0=0.021v/m

Explanation:

From the question we are told that:

Length l=1.73m

Voltage V=36.0mV

Frequency F=500Hz

Generally the equation for maximum Electric Field  is mathematically given by

 E_0=\frac{\triangle}{r}

 E_0=\frac{36*10^{-3}}{1.73}

 E_0=0.021v/m

Assume that Parker Company will receive SF200,000 in 360 days. Assume the following interest rates:
Anna35 [415]

Answer:

b.  $96,914

Explanation:

360-day borrowing rate = 5%

spot rate = 0.48

360-day deposit rate  = 6%

Borrow at the rate of 5% to get

SF200,000/1.05 = $190,476.19

Convert at the spot rate of $0.48 to get

190,476.19*0.48 = $91,428.57

Invest at the interest rate of 6% to get

91,428.57/1.06 = 96,914.28

Therefore, Parker Company will receive $96,914 in 360 days.
