Some of the cultural considerations a medical assistant need to be aware of when addressing issues related to the female reproductive system are; taboos, believes and practices, norms, values and ,attitudes of the different cultures within his/her working locality. These are importantto avoid offending the patient or developing prejudices and misconceptions that might influence your ability to offer assistance. This is because some cultures forbid discussing reproductive issues with certain genders. Other cultures are anti-western reproductive ideas. Moreover, other cultures belief children are as a sign of wealth and a source of blessing form their supreme beings. Therefore believes, values and attitudes will determine the number of children one will have.
