The answer is; D. The movement of water molecules from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration

A is not correct because Osmosis does not create DNA.

B is incorrect because the movement of molecules through the cell membrane is called Passive Transport.

C is incorrect because the division process of the cell's cytoplasm is called Mitosis.

Thus brings us to D which is the correct answer because Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement of water across a semipermeable membrane from a region of low solute concentration to a more concentrated solution, up a concentration gradient.

Answer by Mimiwhatsup: D. the movement of water molecules from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration

Why is this right by Mimiwhatsup: Osmosis is a process in which molecules pass through a membrane from less concentrated to higher concentrated one which equalizes it. I choose this one because it makes the most sense out of the rest because none of the rest explain it's process. Osmosis is a passive transport and which means it does not require energy to be applied.

How do changes in nutrient levels affect the structure of aquatic food webs?
vodka [1.7K]

ANSWER:

The effects of increasing or decreasing the nutrient levels in an aquatic food webs is described in the explanation.

Explanation:

If the nutrient levels in an aquatic food web increase moderately then it will result in increased production of the primary producers and the consumers.

But if the nutrient levels are increased excessively, like in eutrophication, then the increased level of nutrients will result in overproduction of the consumers like fishes, etc. Hence, there will be a scarcity of resources like oxygen in the water to support them and this will lead to a decline in biodiversity of the aquatic food web.

If the nutrient levels are decreased, then there will be competition for resources among the species which will ultimately lead to the decline of some species from the aquatic food web.

What do dna microarray assays allow scientists to study regarding gene expression?
Allisa [31]

DNA microarray assays allow scientists to identify networks of gene expression across an entire genome.

The microarray is scanned to determine the expression of each gene printed on the slide after hybridization. The associated spot on the microarray turns red if a particular gene's expression is higher in the experimental sample than in the reference sample.

The DNA microarray is a technology that is used to identify whether a specific person's DNA has mutations in genes like BRCA1 and BRCA2. The chip is made up of a tiny glass plate that is enclosed in plastic. A few businesses use techniques resembling those employed to create computer microchips to produce microarrays.

Melody is a rhythmic sequence of pitches that create a musical phrase or motif. A melody also consists of two parts: pitch and rhythm. We sometimes think of melodies as the vocal part of a song. However, a melody can also be the top line of your instrumental drop, a signature bass line, or even a unique vocal sample.

The characteristic that results from a monohybrid cross is the _____ trait.
Gala2k [10]
The answer is dominant.

A monohybrid cross involves organisms that are heterozygous for only one character. In autosomal dominant traits, the phenotype is present if both copies of the dominant allele (A) are present (homozygous individuals AA) or only one copy of the dominant allele is present (heterozygous individuals Aa). Thus, the characteristic that results from a monohybrid cross is the dominant trait.
