The answer is; D. The movement of water molecules from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration

A is not correct because Osmosis does not create DNA.

B is incorrect because the movement of molecules through the cell membrane is called Passive Transport.

C is incorrect because the division process of the cell's cytoplasm is called Mitosis.

<u>Thus brings us to </u><u>D </u><u>which is the correct answer because Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement of water across a semipermeable membrane from a region of low solute concentration to a more concentrated solution, up a concentration gradient.</u>

Answer by Mimiwhatsup: D. the movement of water molecules from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration

Why is this right by Mimiwhatsup: Osmosis is a process in which molecules pass through a membrane from less concentrated to higher concentrated one which equalizes it. I choose this one because it makes the most sense out of the rest because none of the rest explain it's process. Osmosis is a passive transport and which means it does not require energy to be applied.

KatRina [158]

Answer: B

Explanation:  Ultimately, one wishes to determine how genes—and the proteins they encode—function in the intact organism. Although it may sound counterintuitive, one of the most direct ways to find out what a gene does is to see what happens to the organism when that gene is missing. Studying mutant organisms that have acquired changes or deletions in their nucleotide sequences is a time-honored practice in biology. Because mutations can interrupt cellular processes, mutants often hold the key to understanding gene function. In the classical approach to the important field of genetics, one begins by isolating mutants that have an interesting or unusual appearance: fruit flies with white eyes or curly wings, for example. Working backward from the phenotype—the appearance or behavior of the individual—one then determines the organism's genotype, the form of the gene responsible for that characteristic. Assume you inoculated 100 cells, with a generation time of 20 minutes, into 100 ml of nutrient broth. You then inoculated 100 ce
Mice21 [21]

Answer:

the same number of cells in both.

Explanation:

Nutrient broth is a general purpose medium that can be used to cultivate different variety of both fastidious and non-fastidious microorganisms.

Nutrient broth is known to contain or compose of simple peptone and a beef extract.

It is known to be used for bacteria that will not form colonies  on a solid surface.

Nutrient broth can be prepared through this following steps

* Add 13g of nutrient broth powder  in 1L of distilled water.

* Mix and dissolve them completely.

* Pour them into the final containers (eg. conical flask)

* Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.

In this case, since the 100 ml  and 1000 ml is prepared using the same method, it is expected to have the same number of cells in the same volume of the broth.
