Answer:

4Fe(s) + 3O2(g) → 2Fe2O3(s)

3Fe(s) + 2O2(g) → Fe3O4(s)

Explanation:

Iron has 2 oxidation state of +2 and +3. The oxidation number of + 3 can react with oxygen to form a compound known as ferric oxide. The reaction is as follows

Fe(s) + O2(g) → Fe2O3(s)

The equation is not balanced so we need to balance it.

4Fe(s) + 3O2(g) → 2Fe2O3(s)

The atom on both side is balanced .

The combination of Iron (ii) and (iii) can react with oxygen as follows

Fe(s) + O2(g) → Fe3O4(s)

Balancing the equation

3Fe(s) + 2O2(g) → Fe3O4(s)
