Pepsi [2]3 years ago

present dimensions = 5*7

dimensions after scaling with factor 3 = 15*21

dimensions after reducing by scale factor 0.5 = 7.5*10.5

area of rectangle = length * breadth

so area of yearbook = 7.5*10.5 = 78.75

because, 78.75<80

so, the yearbook will fit in area of 80 inches^2

4−(3x−8)=21 solve this pls
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

4 - ( 3x - 8 ) = 21

break the bracket first ,it gives : 4 - 3x + 8 = 21

12 - 3x = 21

- 3x = 21 - 12

- 3x = 9

-x = 9/3

-x = 3

X = - 3

[ check if the answer is correct, put -3 instead of X in the above equation ! we get 4 - { 3(-3) - 8 } = 21

4 - { - 9 - 8 } = 21

4 - { - 17 } = 21

break the bracket, minus and minus will multiply and will become plus , so we have 4 + 17 = 21 , hence 21 = 21 ! therefore X = -3

In a bolt factory, machines 1,2, and 3 respectively produce 20%, 30% and 50% of the total output. of their respective outputs 5%
lorasvet [3.4K]

Answer:

a. 1/10 or 10%

b. 1/2 or 50%

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the combination of machines 1, 2 and 3 produce 100% of the total output when added together, then the probability of choosing a bolt at random that is defective is: 5 + 2 + 3 = 10% out of 100% or 10/100, which is 1/10 or 10%.

If the bolt that is choosen at random is defective, than the probability that it came from machine 1 is 5/10 or 1/2 which is also 50%.

A total of 765 tickets were sold for the school play. They were either adults or students tickets. There were 65 more student ti
Brrunno [24]

Answer: 350 adult tickets

Step-by-step explanation:

(omg I remember this question!)

  • a stands for the number of adult tickets sold

student tickets : a + 65

the equation for the prob:

765 = a + (a + 65)

solve:

combine 'like terms'

1.) 765 = a + a + 65

2.) 765 = 2a + 65

- 65         - 65

700= 2a

divide by 2

700/2 = 2a/2

(700/2 = 350)

(the "2" in 2a is cancelled out by the other 2)

350 = a
