Answer:0.829 to 0.853

Explanation:

Given

height through ball is dropped h=254 cm

velocity at just before collision is u=\sqrt{2gh}

u=\sqrt{2\time 9.8\times 2.54}

u=7.05 m/s

if the now if the ball rises to a height of 175 cm , velocity after collision to reach at that height is

v_a=\sqrt{2\times 9.8\times 1.75}=5.85 m/s

if the ball rises to an height of 185 cm then velocity after collision

v_b=\sqrt{2\times 9.8\times 1.85}=6.02 m/s

value of e for h=175 cm

e=\frac{5.85}{7.05}

e=0.829

e for 185 cm

e=\frac{6.02}{7.05}=0.853

Range of e is 0.829 to 0.853

A mercury thermometer has a glass bulb of interior volume 0.100 cm3 at 10°c. the glass capillary 10) tube above the bulb has an
Nadya [2.5K]
Initial volume of mercury is
V = 0.1 cm³

The temperature rise is 35 - 5 = 30 ⁰C = 30 ⁰K.

Because the coefficient of volume expansion is 1.8x10⁻⁴ 1/K, the change in volume of the mercury is
ΔV = (1.8x10⁻⁴ 1/K)*(30 ⁰K)(0.1 cm³) = 5.4x10⁻⁴ cm³

The cross sectional area of the tube is
A = 0.012 mm² = (0.012x10⁻² cm²).
Therefore the rise of mercury in the tube is
h = ΔV/A
   = (5.4x10⁻⁴ cm³)/(0.012x10⁻² cm²)
   = 4.5 cm

Now assume that the frictional force f is not at its maximum value. What is the relation between the torque Ï„ applied to each w
leva [86]

Answer:

a)The direction the frictional force will acts is in the positive x direction.

Explanation:

a)The direction the frictional force will acts is in the positive x direction

b)in the horizontal direction, the total force F(total) is equal to 4times the frictional force in the wheel.

F(total)=4f

''f'' is taken as the frictional force.

c)4times the normal force on each wheel minus the acceleration equals zero i.e 4N(wheel)-a=0

=4N(wheel)-mg=0

d) torque is the force that tends to bend rotation

ζ=rf

but acceleration=4×frictional force

cross multiply

f=ζ/r

f=ma/4

ma/4=ζ/r

a=4ζ/r
