Answer : The correct option is, Fe_2O_3

Explanation :

Formula unit of a compound is defined as the minimum number ratio of ions represented in the compound.

The valency of iron is (+3) and the valency of oxygen is (-2). By the criss-cross method the Fe^{+3} cation combine with the O^{2-} anion, it will give Fe_2O_3.

Fe^{+3}+O^{2-}\rightarrow Fe_2O_3

The formula by criss-cross method is shown below.

Fe2O3 because O has a -2 charge and Fe and +3, you want the charges to equal each other so if you have 2 Fe with +3 charge the charge becomes 6 if you have 3 O with -2 charge the charge becomes 6.

What volume does 18.0g of bromine occupy?
Varvara68 [4.7K]

Hey there!

Atomic mass Bromine ( Br ) = 79.9 u

Therefore:

79.9 g Br --------------- 22.4 L ( at STP )

18.0 g Br --------------- volume ??

Volume Br = 18.0 * 22.4 / 79.9

Volume Br = 403.2 / 79.9

Volume Br = 5.046 L

hope this helps!

An ideal gas sample is confined to 3.0 L and kept at 27 °C. If the temperature is raised to 77 °C and the initial pressure was 1
Nadusha1986 [10]

The gas is confined in 3.0 L container ( rigid container) ⇒ the volume remains constant when the temperature is increased from from 27oC to 77oC and therefore V1=V2 .

which of the following compounds exhibits dipole -dipole forces as its strongest attraction between molecules? o2,ch3Br,CCl4,He,
Archy [21]

Answer:

B. CH3Br

Explanation:

Dipole -Dipole interactions take place in polar molecules.

CH3Br exhibits dipole -dipole forces as its strongest attraction between molecules because it is a polar molecule due to the slightly negative dipole present on the Br molecule.

While O2 is a nonpolar molecule due to its linear structure, CCl4 has zero resultant dipole moment, Helium is non-polar and BrCH2CH2OH is a non polar compound having net dipole moment is zero.

Hence, the correct option is B. CH3Br.
