Answer : The correct option is, Fe_2O_3

Explanation :

Formula unit of a compound is defined as the minimum number ratio of ions represented in the compound.

The valency of iron is (+3) and the valency of oxygen is (-2). By the criss-cross method the Fe^{+3} cation combine with the O^{2-} anion, it will give Fe_2O_3.

Fe^{+3}+O^{2-}\rightarrow Fe_2O_3

The formula by criss-cross method is shown below.

Fe2O3 because O has a -2 charge and Fe and +3, you want the charges to equal each other so if you have 2 Fe with +3 charge the charge becomes 6 if you have 3 O with -2 charge the charge becomes 6.

The solubility of a substance in water is dependent on the temperature. Thus for

1 & 2: Temperature is the independent variable (the one that changes in the first place) and Solubility is a dependent variable (a variable that changes in response to changes in the independent variable.)

The graph: by convention you shall label the horizontal axis with the independent variable and the vertical axis with the dependent variable. For clarity's sake you shall use the finest scale possible that accommodates for all data provided for both axis. Plot the data points on the graph as if they are points on a cartesian plane.

My teacher made no detailed requirements on the phrasing on titles of solubility curve plots; however, like most other graphs in chemistry, the title shall specify the name of variables presented in this visualization. For instance, "the solubility of KClO_3 under different temperatures" might do. You shall refer to your textbooks for such convention.

It is necessary to interpolate to find the solubility at a temperature not given in the table. Start by connecting all given data points with a smooth line; find the vertical line corresponding to temperature = 75 degree Celsius and determine the solubility at the intersection of the vertical line and the trend line. That point shall approximates the solubility of the salt at that temperature.

Calculate the amount of time required to raise temperature of 0.50 liter of water from
Burka [1]

Answer:

19 seconds

Explanation:

Heat energy was supplied and used to heat 0.50 liters of water from 0°C to 10°C.

This means water gained heat energy that was supplied.

Therefore;

Heat supplied = Heat gained by water

We are required to calculate the time taken to raise the temperature of water from 0°C to 10°C.

Step 1: Calculate the heat gained by water

Quantity of heat = Mass × specific heat capacity × change in temperature

Density of water 1 g/ml

Volume of water is 500 mL

Therefore, since Mass = density × volume

The mass of water = 500 g

Change in temperature = 10° C

Specific heat capacity of water = 4.18 J/g/°C

Thus;

Quantity of heat = 500 g × 4.18 J/g/°C × 10

                           = 20,900 Joules

Step 2: Heat supplied by a heater

Heat supplied = Power × time

Power = 1100 J/s

Assuming the time required is x

Heat supplied = 1100x Joules

Step 3: Time required

Remember; heat supplied = heat gained by water

Therefore;

1100x joules = 20,900 Joules

      x = 20,900/1100

        = 19 seconds

Therefore, the time required to raise the temperature of water from 0°C to 10°C is 19 seconds.
