Area of each piece of paper = 8 1/2 x 11 = 17/2 x 11 = 187/2

The greatest number of possible pieces of paper = [1000 ÷ 187/2] = [1000 x 2/187] = [2000/187] = 10

Are any of these in a 1:2:1 ration form? If so how do you know? Will mark as B.A
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

No, none of these are in a 1:2:1 ratio form. To find out we simply divide the first number by the original number, then multiply the other original numbers by what we just got to find out if it works.

Let's try #1.

3/1 = 3. 2(3) = 6. We now already know that #1 is incorrect because it says 8 instead of 6.

#2 and #3

We can tell these are both wrong because the first and last number have to equal the same, but in these they are different.

Hope this helps you! :)
