Since she has "no more than $40 to spend" we know that the the symbol must be "less than or equal to" \leq.  Now we can eliminate the first and second choices because they are "greater than or equal to".

Next, we can figure out how to model this situation.  There is a flat $5 fee and each song is $2.  We can model this with 2s+5 ($2 per son plus $5).

The answer is 2s+5\leq 40

Hope this helps!

An ounce of almonds costs $1.40. If Joey buys 2.4 ounces of almonds, how much will he have to pay?
Daniel [21]

Answer:

Joey will pay $3.36 for 2.4 ounces of almonds.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Cost of almonds = $1.40 per ounces

Number of ounces bought by Joey = 2.4 ounces

Cost of 2.4 ounces = Ounces of almond * Cost per ounce of almond

Cost of 2.4 ounces = 2.4 * 1.40

Cost of 2.4 ounces = $3.36

Hence,
