Answer:

The founding fathers of the United States did a very good job in shaping the laws of the country, this can be seen in the fact that the U.S. Constitution is the oldest constitution still in place.

The founding fathers shaped the constitution inspired from the ideas of liberal philosophers like John Locke, Montesquieu, and Edmund Burke. They defended the idea of a federal republic, in which several states voluntarilly joined in a republican form of government with separation of powers.

The constitution did have some flaws though, for example, the issue of slavery was not properly established, and this led to the American Civil War decades later.

Besides, twenty seven admendments have been added to the original document in order to meet the national demands of a changing world.

In conclusion, while not a perfect document, the founding fathers did a very good job at writing the constitution.
