Write the iupac name for the compound below. be sure to use correct punctuation.
CaHeK987 [17]
I can't answer this question if the structural formula is not given. However, I found a similar problem in terms of wording. Taking this problem to be solved, let's take a look at the structural formula as shown in the second picture. First, you must know the parent chain, which is the longest chain. This is a trial-and-error process. The longest chain which has a branching group that is nearest to the head is the correct numbering. In this case, the longest chain has 8 carbon atoms. Thus, the base of the name if octane. Because a 3-carbon chain is branching from the 4th carbon, the IUPAC name of the compound shown is: 4-propyloctane.

How can I balance chemical equations by providing the correct coefficients? For example: [?]Pb(NO3)2 + [?]NaCrO4 = [?]PbCrO4 + [
melomori [17]

Answer:

Pb(NO₃)₂ + Na₂CrO₄ —> PbCrO₄ + 2NaNO₃

The coefficients are: 1, 1, 1, 2

Explanation:

Pb(NO₃)₂ + Na₂CrO₄ —> PbCrO₄ + NaNO₃

The above equation can be balance as follow:

Pb(NO₃)₂ + Na₂CrO₄ —> PbCrO₄ + NaNO₃

There are 2 atoms of Na on the left side and 1 atom on the right side. It can be balance by writing 2 before NaNO₃ as shown below:

Pb(NO₃)₂ + Na₂CrO₄ —> PbCrO₄ + 2NaNO₃

Now the equation is balanced.

The coefficients are: 1, 1, 1, 2

How many grams of glucose are needed to prepare 400. g of a 2.00% (m/m) glucose solution g?
Dominik [7]
The grams of glucose are needed to prepare 400g of a 2.00%(m/m) glucose solution g is calculated as below

=% m/m =mass of the solute/mass of the solution x100

let mass of solute be represented by y
mass of solution = 400 g
% (m/m) = 2% = 2/100

grams of glucose is therefore =2/100 = y/400
by cross multiplication

100y = 800
divide both side by 100

y= 8.0 grams
