A simple way to turn this into an equation is by replacing the words with letters:

1464B = 3/4 S

Then you have to remove the 3/4 from the right side of the equation.  You can do this by dividing both sides by 3/4:

1464 / 3/4 = S

Then you have to do the sum:

  1464

 / 3

= 0488

    488

    X  4

= 1952

There are 1952 students.

Which shows the dimensions of two rectangular prisms that have volumes of 72 cm3 but different surface areas? A. 6 cm by 3 cm by
Nookie1986 [14]
To solve, lets find the volumes of all of the options...

V=l*w*h

A.
6*3*4=72cm³
12*2*3=72cm³

B.
2*4*9=72cm³
9*4*2=72cm³

C.
3*3*8=72cm³
2*6*8=96cm³

D.
6*3*4=72cm³
9*4*3=108cm³

We can conclude that C & D aren't the answer, since they contain prisms that don't have a volume of 72cm³.

Now lets solve for the surface area of A and B...

A.
sA=2(wh+lw+lh)=2(6*3+4*6+4*3)=2(18+24+12)=2(54)=108cm²
sA=2(wh+lw+lh)=2(12*2+3*12+3*2)=2(24+36+6)=2(56)=112cm²

B.
sA=2(wh+lw+lh)=2(2*4+9*2+9*4)=2(8+18+36)=2(62)=124cm²
sA=2(wh+lw+lh)=2(9*4+2*9+2*4)=2(36+18+8)=2(62)=124cm²

A is the only option with both similar volumes of 72cm³ and different surface areas...

How do you solve cot^2x + cscx= 1 <br>(0,2pi)

Beth is purchasing chocolate and vanilla ice cream cups for a birthday party. She needs a total of 24 ice cream cups and twice a
frez [133]
constraint 1
 let
 x = number of cups of chocolate
 y = number of cups of vanilla
 The equation that represents the total number of ice cream is:
 x + y = 24
 constraint 2
 the ratio of the number of chocolate cups to vanilla cups is
 y = (1/2) x
 Using equations 1 and 2, you can find the number of cups of each favor required.
 answer:
 x + y = 24
 y = (1/2) x

Determine whether the random variable is discrete or continuous. In each case, state the possible values of the random variable
Deffense [45]

Answer:

C. The random variable is discrete. The possible values are x= 0, 1, 2... 100

C. The random variable is continuous. The possible values are a > 0.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here is the complete question :

Determine whether the random, variable is discrete or continuous.

In each case, state the possible values of the random variable.

(a) The number of people in a restaurant that has a capacity of 100

(b) The square footage of a house.

(a) Is the number of people in a restaurant that has a capacity of 100 discrete or continuous?

A. The random variable is discrete. The possible values are 0≤x≤ 100.

B. The random variable is continuous. The possible values are 0≤x≤ 100.

C. The random variable is discrete. The possible values are x= 0, 1, 2... 100

D. The random variable is continuous. The possible values are x= 0, 1, 2... 100

b) Is the square footage of a house discrete or continuous?

A. The random variable is discrete. the possible values are a > 0

B. The random variable is discrete. The possible values are a = 1, 2, 3...

C. The random variable is continuous. The possible values are a > 0.

D. The random variable is continuous. The possible values are a = 1,2, 3,

A discrete variable is a variable that can be counted. It has a finite amount of values. The number of people in the restaurant is finite. It cannot exceed 100. At any point in time when you count the number of people in the restaurant and it would be between 0 - 100

A continuous variable has an infinite amount of values it can take on. The square footage of a house can be of any size. there is no limit to the size of a house. it can be as small or big as the architect's imagination allows.

It took my question down twice here's a real math question I guess
aliina [53]

Answer:

n-3

Interval notation: (-\infty, -10)\cup(-3,\infty)

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>First inequality:</u>

<u />n+8

Therefore, this inequality restricts:

n \in \mathrm{R};\: n

<u>Second inequality:</u>

< 8+n-3

Therefore, this inequality restricts:

n \in \mathrm{R};\: n>-3

Therefore, with both of these restrictions together, we have:

\fbox{$n \in \mathrm{R}; n-3$}\\\mathrm{or\:}\fbox{$n-3$}\\\mathrm{or\:}\fbox{$(-\infty, -10)\cup(-3,\infty)$}.
