We know there are 8 equal slices. There are 4 parts to the pie.
8 ÷ 4 = 2
We now know each part of the pie has 2 slices
Ruben ate 3/4 of the slices so,
2 x 3 = 6
6 is your numerator (top) (standing for how much Ruben ate)
8 is your denominator (bottom) (standing for total slices)
6 slices was eaten by Ruben
If you want to check your work, divide the numerator and denominator by 2 - since there are 2 equal slices per part
6 ÷ 2 = 3
8 ÷ 2 = 4
3/4 of the pie has been eaten.

You can just set 3/4=X/8, when you multiply the 4 through you get 3=4x/8 which can be simplified to 3=x/2, multiply the 2 over and you have 6=x.

Hope this helps :)

A construction company uses the function f(p) where p is the number of people working on a project to model the amount of money
Jlenok [28]

Answer:

Domain of f(p) =  [0,∞), where it belongs to whole numbers only

Step-by-step explanation:

The domain is the set of all possible values of independent variable for which function is defined

As in the given function f(p), we have the independent variable p. As p is the number of people working on the project, so it means either the number of people could be 0 or it could be anything greater than 0,  like it could be equal to thousand or ten thousand, but it can not be fraction in any case.

So, the domain is set of whole numbers starting from 0.

Domain of f(p) = [0,∞)

69.6% of all full-time law enforcement officers are sworn officers, and of those, 88.2% were males. Females, however, make up 60
Evgen [1.6K]

Answer:

The probability that he or she is a male or a civilian employee is 1.037068

Step-by-step explanation:

Probability of sworn officers = 0.696

Probability of civilians = 1 - 0.696 = 0.304

Probability of male sworn officers = 0.882*0.696 = 0.6139

Probability of male civilian = (0.304*(1-0.608)) = 0.1192

Hence probability that he or she is a male or civilian employee is

0.6139 + 0.1192 + 0.304 = 1.037068
