Your teacher describes a population oTwo insect groups vary genetically by two genes. When put together, they were able to repro

duce and produce offspring that could also breed. Which best describes this insect population? f fish that live in a coral reef. Some fish are dark orange (the same color as the coral); other fish are nearly white. Human activity has led to the bleaching of the coral reefs, making them very pale in color. Over time, the population of fish will be affected. Which graph represents the type of selection that you expect to occur?
*The insects experienced geographic isolation.
*The insects experienced reproductive isolation.
*The insects are different species.
*The insects are the same species.

Question number 1.
The correct answer is: The insects are the same species.
There is still a lot of discussion in the scientific community on how should we define a biological species, but one of the main points that all scientists agree on is that the members of the same biological species are individuals that can successfully reproduce and leave viable and fertile offspring.

Question number two
The correct answer is : The graph showing directional natural selection.
In the case of the fish species of the coral reef, there are two extremes of the phenotype the dark orange and the pale one.
Before the bleaching of the coral, the dark orange phenotype was better adapted to the environment. But after the bleaching of the coral, the pale phenotype now resembles the coral background more and it is able to hide from the predators better than the dark orange one.
This will result in natural selection favoring the pale phenotype more and working in the direction of this extreme on the graph.

Part A - Modification of chromatin structure Which statements about the modification of chromatin structure in eukaryotes are tr
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Answer:

Some forms of chromatin modification can be passed on to future generation of cells

Acetylation of histone tails in chromatin allows access to DNA for transcription

DNA is not transcribed when packaged tightly in a condensed form

methylation of histone tails can promote condensation of the chromatin

Explanation:

chromatin modifications that can be passed on includes epigenetic modifications that are heritable changes made to the chromatin structure that does not involve the DNA sequences. Some epigenetic modifications include DNA methylation and Histone modifications. examples of histone modification include acetylation, methylation, phosphorylation, ubiquintylation etc. All these function either in allowing the DNA become more accessible to transcritional factors or vice versa. for exmple, histone tail acetylation encourages unwounding of nucleosomes allowing transcriptional factors to have access to the DNa while histone tails methylation further tightens the nucleosomes promoting condensation of the chromatin.
