hovering mosquito is hit by a raindrop that is 45 times as massive and falling at 8.1 m/s , a typical raindrop speed. How fast i

Answer:

7.92 m/s

Explanation:

m_1 = Mass of raindrop = 45m_2

m_2 = Mass of mosquito

u_1 = Initial Velocity of raindrop = 8.1 m/s

u_2 = Initial Velocity of mosquito = 0 m/s

v = Velocity of center of mass

For elastic collision

m_1u_1 + m_2u_2 =(m_1 + m_2)v\\\Rightarrow v=\frac{m_1u_1 + m_2u_2}{m_1 + m_2}\\\Rightarrow v=\frac{45m_2\times 8.1 + m_2\times 0}{45m_2 + m_2}\\\Rightarrow v=\frac{364.5m_2}{46m_2}\\\Rightarrow v=7.92\ m/s

Hence, the velocity of the attached mosquito, falling immediately afterward is 7.92 m/s

Define what is boyleâs law?
lawyer [7]

Answer:

Volume of given mass of gas is inversely proportional to pressure of gas

Explanation:

Boyle's law: It states that the volume of given mass of gas is inversely proportional  to the pressure of gas at constant temperature.

Mathematical representation:

Suppose, a gas of mass m

T=Constant temperature

V=Volume of gas

P=Pressure of gas

Then, V\propto\frac{1}{P}

How should the distance, D, between two point charges, q1 and q2, be changed to double their electric potential energy
Licemer1 [7]

The electrostatic potential energy, U, of one point charge q at position d in the presence of an electric field E is defined as the negative of the work W done by the electrostatic force to bring it from the reference position d to that position

u \:  =  \:  \frac{kq1q2}{d}

Thus, to double the electric potential energy U we need to reduce the distance of separation by half (1/2) because they are inversely proportion

Question 33
pantera1 [17]

Answer:

A. The waves in the water travel faster and at a higher frequency than they travel on land.

Explanation:

The main reason why human ears can hear dolphins' vocalizations while under the water but cannot hear them well on land is because water is denser than air and air particles travel faster in denser particles.

Denser particles also ensures that the frequency of the waves move faster which in turn produces a faster and louder result.
