Answer: Hello there!

We have 4 pizzas, and 1 and 1/2 of them have pepperoni (and 2 and 1/2 do not have pepperoni).

The scouts ate 5/6 of the pizzas that contained pepperoni, this means that they ate 5/6 of the 1 and 1/2 pizza with pepperoni (that can be written as 1 + 1/2 = 3/2)

first we could write the initial fraction of pizza with pepperoni, this is the amount of pizza with pepperoni divided by the total amount of pizza:

(3/2)/4 = 3/8

and now, because the scouts eat 5/6, there is 1/6 left.

then we have (1/6)*(3/8) = 3/48 of the 4 original pizzas, but we could simplify it a bit by dividing both denominator and numerator by 3.

3/48 =  1/16

3 / m + 4 - 4 / m = 6 (i) Show that this equation can be written as 6m^2 + 25m+16= 0
Evgen [1.6K]

Answer:

Proved Below

Step-by-step explanation:

\sf \frac{3}{m+4} - \frac{4}{m} = 6\\LCM = m(m+4)\\Multiplying \ both \ sides \ by\ m(m+4)\\3m - 4(m+4) = 6m(m+4)\\3m-4m-16 = 6m^2+24m\\-m-16 = 6m^2+24m\\Adding\ m\ to\ both\ sides\\-16 = 6m^2+24m+m\\-16 = 6m^2+25m\\Adding \ 16 \ to \ both \ sides\\0 = 6m^2+25m+16\\OR\\6m^2+25m+16 = 0

Hence, Proved that \sf \frac{3}{m+4} - \frac{4}{m} = 6 is equivalent to \sf 6m^2+25m+16 = 0.
