find the area of each sector. Use the 3.14 as the value of pi. Round your answer to the nearest tenth. Part 4
Yuri [45]

Answer:

1) 378.1 in²

2) 8.4 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of sector= \frac{θ°}{360°}  \times \pi {r}^{2}

1) Area of sector

=  \frac{150°}{360°} \times 3.14 \times  {17}^{2}  \\  = 378.1 \: in^{2}  \\ (nearest \: tenth)

2) Area of sector

\frac{60°}{360°}  \times 3.14 \times  {4}^{2}  \\  = 8.4 \: m^{2}  \\ (nearest \: tenth)

List the sides of each triangle from shortest to greatest
Lelechka [254]
In every triangle, the largest side, is opposite the largest angle.

Also, the smallest side, is opposite the smallest angle.

a.70^o\ \textgreater \ 60^o\ \textgreater \ 50^o so |RQ|\ \textgreater \ |PR|\ \textgreater \ |PQ|,

because RQ is opposite angle P, the largest,
PR is opposite angle Q , the middle
and PQ is opposite angle R, the smallest.

Greatest side: RQ

b. The sum of the measures of the interior angles of any triangle is 180°,

so

m(A)+m(B)+m(C)=180^o\\\\50^o+45^o+x=180^o\\\\x=180^o-50^o-45^o=85^o

thus, m(C) is the largest angle. This means the largest side is the side AB.

Answers:

a) RQ
b)AB

Answer:

#1.  x = -1

Answer = 8

#2. x = 1/5

Answer = 344/25

#3. x = 14

Answer =  13328

Step-by-step explanation:

#1. a. plug in -1

f(-1)= (5(-1)^3) - (2(-1)^2 - (-1) + 14

b. Solve the exponents.

(5(-1)^3)

(5x-1)

(-5) - (2(-1)^2) - (-1) + 14

(2(-1)^2)

(2x1)

(-5) - (2) - (-1) +14

c. simplify.

(-5) - (2) + 1 + 14

-7 + 15

8

#2.

f(1/5)= (5(1/5)^3) - (2(1/5)^2 - (1/5) + 14

(5(1/5)^3)

(5 x 1/125)

(1/25) - (2(1/5)^2)

(2 x 1/25)

(2/25)

(1/25) - (2/25) - (1/5) +14

(-1/25) - (1/5) +14

Note: (1/5) turns into (5/25) so it can be subtracted.

-6/25 + 14

Note: 14 turns into 350/25 so it can be added.

350/25 - 6/25 = 344/25

#3.

f(14)= (5(14)^3) - (2(14)^2 - (14) + 14

Note: Normally you do the exponents first but I'm just going to casually take out the two 14s at the end cause they cancel each other out.

f(14)= (5(14)^3) - (2(14)^2)

( 5 (14^3))

(5 x  2744)

(13720) - (2(14^2))

(2 (14^2))

(2x196)

392

(13720) - 392

13328

Good Luck!
