As of my community there are these leading factors contributing to poverty:

Corruption: Looks like every office or facility given to public has been hijacked by the upper class and the poor keep suffering due to that leading to more poverty.

Ignorance: When mixed with corruption it accelerates the increasing poverty. People do not know their rights which make it easy for corrupt elements to usurp the rights.

Dependency: Everyone is dependent on others leaving their own efforts out, not trying to make their carer leads to poverty.

Disease: Frequent hits of diseases like Ebola and Malaria and other infections are also a factor.

Answer:

There are many factors that lead to poverty, four of those factors are:

1. Poor education

2. No access to clean water and nutritious food

3. Conflict

4. Lack of infrastructure

Further explanation

Poverty is a condition which a person is not able to meet their basic necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing. On October 2015, the international poverty line is set on less than $1.90 a day.

1. Poor education: Education plays an important role to reduce poverty. It is because education can open so many opportunities, and skills. Through better education, people have access to decent jobs to develop themselves and participate fully in society. UNESCO estimates that 171 million people could be lifted out of poverty if they have basic reading skills. And, with even more education, world poverty could be cut in half.

2. Good access to clean water and nutritious food: clean water is crucial in order to improve the sanitation and health of the population. If a person doesn’t get enough food, they simply don’t have the strength and energy needed to work. Lack of access to food, clean water, sanitation, and hand hygiene can also lead to illnesses like diarrhea. Diarrhea and pneumonia take the lives of 2 million children a year who are too poor to afford proper treatment.

3. Conflict: There are some political factors that can lead to poverty. One of them is conflict. In a conflict area, many infrastructures have been destroyed, people flee to another country, forcing families to sell or leave behind all their assets, lost their job and they instantly live in poverty. Many children can't have an education and it would affect their future.

4. A lack of infrastructure: A lack of infrastructures such as roads, bridges, internet connection, and communications can isolate communities living in rural areas. It is also affecting economic and the ability to get further education and a better job.
