14.94 cm ( to 2 dec. places )

We require the sum totals of the 2 groups before calculating the mean of all 14

using mean = \frac{sum}{count}

Children's sum

12.6 = \frac{sum}{6}( cross-multiply )

sum = 6 × 12.6 = 75.6

Adult's sum

16.7 = \frac{sum}{8}( cross- multiply )

sum = 8 × 16.7 = 133.6

Total sum of all 14 = 75.6 + 133.6 = 209.2

mean = \frac{209.2}{14} = 14.94 cm

Convert the cartesian equation x2 +y2=16 to a polar equation
VARVARA [1.3K]
X^2+y^2 = 16
can be written as
(x-0)^2+(y-0)^2 = 4^2

We see that the second equation is in the form
(x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2

where
(h,k) = (0,0) is the center
r = 4 is the radius

The polar form of the equation is simply r = 4. Why is this? Because the radius is fixed to be 4 no matter what happens with theta. As theta goes from 0 to 360, the points generated all form a circle centered at (0,0) with radius 4.

Answer: r = 4

A camp leader figures that she needs one tent for every three campers, plus a tent for herself. Define a variable and write an e
Tomtit [17]
3t+1
The t stands for tent, and is being multiplied by 3 because there is always going to be 1 tent for every 3 campers. Plus one, for the camp leader.
