3.3 miles should be the answer
10 = 2.40 + .2x    - take 2.4 from both sides
7.6 = .2x              - take 2 from 7.6 for the tip
5.6 = .2x              - divide both sides by .2
28 = x
this means that you can pay the taxi drives an additional 28 times with the .20 cents fee and still have 2 dollars left over
now multiply 28 by .1 miles which is 2.8 miles
add 2.8 miles to .5 miles which equals 3.3 miles

Answer:

I can ride 3.3 miles in $10.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let i can ride x miles in $10.

So for first 0.5 miles I have paid = $2.4

The for remaining ride of (x - 0.5) payment done = $\frac{0.20}{0.1}\times (x-0.5)=2(x - 0.5)

I gave the tip = $2

Total payment I have done for the ride = $10

So equation will be

2.4 + 2(x - 0.5) + 2 = 10

4.4 + 2x - 1 = 10

3.4 + 2x = 10

2x = 10 - 3.4

2x = 6.6

x = \frac{6.6}{2}=3.3

Therefore, i can ride 3.3 miles in $10.

Raven is considering taking out a 30-year loan with monthly payments of
Anna007 [38]

Answer:

If Raven's monthly payment were $125, the amount of the loan that she is considering taking out  would be less than $43,205.56.

Step-by-step explanation:

If you think about it this way it may be more simple. If the APR stays constant then a greater payment will result in a greater loan. The opposite is also true meaning a lesser payment will result in a lesser loan. If the amount Raven pays is greater than $145 then the loan will be greater than $43,205.56. If the amount she pays is less than $145 then the loan will be less than $43,205.56. Of the options, only one of these situations will be present. In my case, the correct option was a payment of $125 will result in a lesser loan than $43,205.56.
