What happens to temperature and thermal energy during phase change
Cloud [144]

Answer:

During phase change (e.g. gas to liquid/liquid to solid vice versa), there is no temperature change observed. Thermal energy is not used to increase the kinetic energy of the particles, but to break the intermolecular forces. Thus, the temperature remains constant as all the thermal energy is used up and none of it is absorbed or released.
