we have to find the surface area of the square pyramid including base.

since the base is a square and we have the side 35ft,

so the area of the base = 35*35=1225

Now, the area of the each triangle=\frac{1}{2} *base*height

so, the area of one triangle =\frac{1}{2} * 35*55=962.5

Since,we have four triangles so total area =4*962.5=3850

therefore, the total surface area = area of the base plus the area of four triangles i.e. 1225+3850=5075.

Hence, the surafce area of the top of the washington monument including the base is 5075ft.
