2 because once you double it, it becomes 4. Once you add 4, you get 8. When you subtract your number, which is 2, you get 6. Then when you subtract 3, you get 3. 3 is your number (2) plus 1

Answer:

a. i. x ≤ 25 ii. 16 < x < 35 iii. 25 < x ≤ 95

b. The second and third car seats are appropriate for a 35 lb child.

Step-by-step explanation:

a. Model those ranges with compound inequalities

Let x represent the car seat.

i. A car seat designed for a child weighing up to  and including 25 lb is described by the inequality.

x ≤ 25

ii. A car seat designed for a child weighing between 16 lb  and 35 lb is described by the inequality.

16 < x < 35

iii. A car seat designed for a child weighing between 25 lb  and 95 lb inclusive is described by the inequality.

25 < x ≤ 95

b. Which car seats are appropriate for a  33-lb child?

Since 35 lb is included in the range of the inequalities for the second and third card seats, the second and third car seats are appropriate for a 35 lb child.

Using the elimination method how do I find x and y for the following problem:
slega [8]

Answer: x= -2 and y= -3.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given system of equations :

4x-7y=13    ...(i)

4x + 7y = -29     ....(ii)

By Elimination method, Eliminating (ii) from (i) , we get

-7y-7y=13-(-29)\\\\\Rightarrow\ -14y=13+29\\\\\Rightarrow\ -14y=42\\\\\Rightarrow\ y=\dfrac{42}{-14}\\\\\Rightarrow\ y=-3

Now, Adding (i) and (ii), we get

8x=-16\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=\dfrac{-16}{8}\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=-2

Hence, the solution is : x= -2 and y= -3.

For which of the situations would estimating be the appropriate method of calculation?
Alja [10]
D. Because if you estimate on your taxes it would cause a lot of problems. estimating on a grade could get you a failing grade even if you passed. And estimating on a price would mean you might pay more than you have to... But estimating on if you have enough money is ok like adding all the dollars and not the cents totally fine :) I really hope this helps and isn't confusing:)
