The Earth takes a year to orbit around the Sun. What about the Moon?

Answer

C. The Moon orbits the Earth about once a month

Over billions of years the earth’s gravitational field has tidally locked the moon in orbit so that its rotation about its axis is the same as that of its orbit around the earth.

This process is still continuing as the earth transfers some of its angular momentum to the moon lifting it to a higher orbit by a couple of centimeters a year. As it rises, its takes a fraction longer to complete an orbit, and its rotational speed slows down slightly to match.

The eventual conclusion of this is that the earth also would become tidally locked to the moon, and they will both face each other permanently. But this is going to take that long that the sun will probably have destroyed both the earth and the moon in its red giant phase before this happens.

Hope this helps!\

A because the sun and the moon orbits the earth at the same time that’s how some of us get the moon and the sun at different times because the moon and sun are spaced out so the moon and suns appearances are separated also

IrinaK [193]
A first-hand source such as an experiment is called a primary source.

A primary source is where you can share new information or report on what you have discovered. Some primary sources are research data, interviews, audio recordings, and autobiographies.

A secondary source is where you describe and discuss about the primary sources. They are used to collect and gather primary source information. Some secondary sources are textbooks, review articles, and scholarly books.

A tertiary source is a source about summaries. A tertiary source can be used to look up information or get an overview about what it is you are wanting to know. Some tertiary sources are dictionaries, handbooks, encyclopedias, Wikipedia, and guidebooks.

How can this PLR (pupillary light reflex) help you determine whether the lesion is in the eye itself or elsewhere?
Contact [7]

Answer:

Pupillary light reflex refers to the contraction that the pupils present when they light up. In cases of injury to the optic nerve, when the eye where the injured optic nerve is illuminated, since it cannot conduct the stimulus to the brain, neither pupil closes.

Explanation:

Pupillary light reflex refers to the reaction that causes the pupil to close with light thanks to the contraction of the sphincter of the pupil and to open in the dark thanks to the relaxation of that muscle by not receiving any stimulus. A light stimulus reaches the eye and in the retina it is transformed, through a chemical reaction, into an electrical stimulus that will be transmitted through the optic nerve and the visual pathways to the brain. The visual cells of the retina, rods and cones, also act as light receptors that control the pupil's motor activity. Thus, pupil-motor thresholds to light follow the same spectral sensitivity deviations as visual thresholds, which are a function of the state of light adaptation of the retina.
