The Earth takes a year to orbit around the Sun. What about the Moon?

Answer

C. The Moon orbits the Earth about once a month

Over billions of years the earth’s gravitational field has tidally locked the moon in orbit so that its rotation about its axis is the same as that of its orbit around the earth.

This process is still continuing as the earth transfers some of its angular momentum to the moon lifting it to a higher orbit by a couple of centimeters a year. As it rises, its takes a fraction longer to complete an orbit, and its rotational speed slows down slightly to match.

The eventual conclusion of this is that the earth also would become tidally locked to the moon, and they will both face each other permanently. But this is going to take that long that the sun will probably have destroyed both the earth and the moon in its red giant phase before this happens.

Hope this helps!\

A because the sun and the moon orbits the earth at the same time that’s how some of us get the moon and the sun at different times because the moon and sun are spaced out so the moon and suns appearances are separated also

Which substance is a nucleic acid ?
andrew-mc [135]

Your answer is RNA.

Nucleic acid can be defined as the biopolymers which is known to be the most essential for all the life forms on the earth.

Nucleotides that are present in the nucleic acid are the monomers that is made up of 5 carbon sugar, nitogenous base, phosphate group.

If the sugar is ribose sugar then it is known as Ribonucleic acid. They are found in all the living components as the genetic material that transfers the information from parents to their children.

svetlana [45]

Answer:

D. There is no enough oxygen in the culture fluid

Explanation:

The cells in the test tube need to carryout one of the important metabolic processes of living organisms - respiration. The process involves the breakdown of glucose to generate energy for other metabolic processes in the cell.

Respiration can be carried out in the presence of oxygen (aerobic) or in the absence of oxygen (anaerobic). Human cells are primarily aerobic but can carryout respiration anaerobically in the presence of inadequate oxygen.

For aerobic respiration, glucose is broken down in the presence of oxygen to produce carbon-dioxide, water and energy in the form of ATP:

C_6H_1_2O_6 + 6O_2 --> 6CO_2 + 6H_2O + ATP

In the absence of oxygen, the glucose becomes converted to lactic acid and a smaller amount of ATP is produced as compared to aerobic respiration.

Hence, lactic acid gradually builds up in the absence of oxygen due to anaerobic respiration.

The correct option is D.

Explain how parasitism differs from commensalism.
babymother [125]
Commensalism is an interaction in which one of those species would benefit, and the other one would not be affected. Parasitism is an interaction in which one of those species would benefit at the expense of the host organism. Thus, in commensalism we have one positive and one neutral result while in parasitism we have one positive and one negative result.
