When we think about an accusation against Galileo we normally say what! he was a great scientist and astronomer. But like all we make mistakes, he was charged because of his <span>Copernican heliocentric writings. What these writings meant was earth revolved around the sun and not the other way around </span>

He was charged because people in his society thought the idea of a heliocentric model of the universe was so irrational at that point in time. Today we realize that he was correct
