Answer:

240 cubic cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of the box before increament in sides = length*width*height

Length= 5 in.

Width=5 in.

Height = 10 in.

Putting these vales in formula

Volume of box = 5*5*10

                        =250cm^{3}

Now  If the side lengths of the square faces are changed to 7 inches,

So, Length will be 7 in.

Width will be 7 in.

So, new volume = 7*7*10

                          =490cm^{3}

Thus increase in volume = 490-250 =240

Hence by 240 cubic cm  will this increase the volume of the box

The original volume of the shape was 250. You come up with this by multiplying all sides together. So, 5x5x10=250.

We do the same for the new shape, which now has a 7 in place of the 5. So 7x7x10=490.

Lastly, we subtract the volume of the new shape from the volume of the old shape to see the difference. So, 490-250=240.

So the answer to this is 240.

(Worth 30 points) What are the explicit equation and domain for an arithmetic sequence with a first term of 5 and a second term
kolbaska11 [484]

Answer:

a_n=5-2(n-1), all integers where n≥1

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The explicit equation for an arithmetic sequence is equal to

a_n=a_1+d(n-1)

a_n is the th term

a_1 is the first term

d is the common difference

n is the number of terms

we have

a_1=5\\a_2=3

Remember that

In an Arithmetic Sequence the difference between one term and the next is a constant, and this constant is called the common difference.

To find out the common difference subtract the first term from the second term

d=a_2-a_1=3-5=-2

substitute the given values in the formula

a_n=5-2(n-1)

The domain is all integers for n\geq 1

If f(x) = x over 2 + 8, what is f(x) when x = 10?
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

f(10) = 13

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = x/2 + 8

Let x = 10

f(10) = 10/2 +8

f(10) = 5+8

f(10) = 13
