The asteroid belt acts like a boundary and the planets that are in it are then inner planets but on the other side of the asteroid belt those planets are called the outer planets. hope this helps!

You can consider the asteroid belt to mark the boundary. From there, 'inner' and 'outer' refer to their distances from the sun.

23. Why would an astronomical unit not be<br> used to measure distances on Earth?
Rashid [163]
One Astronomical Unit is the distance between the Earth and the Sun, this acts as a sort of a cosmic metre stick. Astronomers don't and cannot measure distances. Distances are merely inferred from what actually has been measured, such as an angle, a relative luminosity, a time period

At 96° F the saturation density of air is 0.04 kg/m3. If the weather report says the relative humidity is 90 % when the tempera
nalin [4]

Answer:

The value is  H  =  0.036 \ kg/m^3

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The saturation density of air is \rho =  0.04 \ kg/m^3

   The temperature for this saturation density to occur  T_s = 96^o F

    The relative humidity at this temperature is  R_h  =  90\%  =  0.90

Generally the relative humidity is mathematically represented as

      R_H  = \frac{H}{\rho}

Here H represents humidity

=> 0.90 =  \frac{H}{0.04}

=>  H  =  0.90 * 0.04

=>  H  =  0.036 \ kg/m^3

A sled is accelerating at 2 m/s2 because it is being pushed on ice by Jenny. Tommy then jumps on the sled (he has the same mass
Radda [10]

Answer:

The acceleration of the total mass decreases by half (1/2)

Explanation:

Given;

acceleration of sled = 2 m/s²

From Newton's second law of motion, F = ma

⇒m = F/a

F is the force applied by Jenny

This force applied by Jenny should be the same, after Tommy jumps on the sled, but the acceleration will change.

F = m₁a₁ = m₂a₂

Since m₂ = 2m₁, then we calculate a₂

m₁a₁ = 2m₁a₂

a₂ = a₁/2

Therefore,The acceleration of the total mass decreases by half.

A block weighing 9.3 N requires a force of 3.7 N to push it along at constant velocity. What is the coefficient of friction for
olga_2 [115]

Answer:

0.398

Explanation:

According to friction, the frictional force is directly proportional to the normal reaction

Ff = nR

Ff is the frictional force

n is the coefficient of friction

R is the reaction

Reaction is equal to the weight

R= W = 9.3N

Fm = Ff = 3.7N

Fm is the moving force

Get the coefficient of friction

n = Ff/R

n = 3.7/9.3

n = 0.398

Hence the coefficient of friction for the surface is 0.398
