Answer:

B for the first one and it is correct.

x - 4 = - 7 for the second one and it is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Left hand panel

2x + 5 > 9

2x + 5 > 9 Subtract 5 from both sides.

2x + 5 - 5 > 9 - 5 Collect like terms

2x > 4 Divide by 2

x > 4/2

x > 2

Right Hand Panel

5x ≤ 30 Divide by 5

5x/5 ≤ 30/ 5

x ≤ 6

Your answer is Correct. (B)

Right hand panel

It's not the normal procedure. Usually when you have an absolute value the next step would be

x - 4 = 7 and you add four to both sides. The question is very poorly constructed and it is meant to fool you, but it didn't. You got this one right as well. Both correct.

Using the discriminant, describe the nature of the roots for the equation
49x^2 − 28x + 4 = 0.
scZoUnD [109]

Answer:

Put the equation in standard form by bringing the 4x + 1 to the left side.

7x2 - 4x - 1 = 0

We use the discriminant to determine the nature of the roots of a quadratic equation. The discriminant is the expression underneath the radical in the quadratic formula: b2 - 4ac.

b2 - 4ac In this case, a = 7, b = -4, and c = -1

(-4)2 - 4(7)(-1)

16 + 28 = 44

Now here are the rules for determining the nature of the roots:

(1) If the discriminant = 0, then there is one real root (this omits the ± from the quadratic formula, leaving only one possible solution)

(2) If the discriminant > 0, then there are two real roots (this keeps the ±, giving you two solutions)

(3) If the discriminant < 0, then there are two imaginary roots (this means there is a negative under the radical, making the solutions imaginary)

44 > 0, so there are two real roots

Can someone please give me the answer to these two?
Radda [10]

Answer:

3: D - Undefined

4: A - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

For Question 3 your answer is D, undefined, because it does not have a slope, a slope is like a hill, but that just goes straight up, thus it is undefined.

For Question 4 your answer is A, 1, because it moves one digit to the right and then 1 digit up, Thus that is your answer.

If there are 31,536,000 seconds in one year how many seconds are in a millennium
Naily [24]

A millennium is 1000 years.

Multiply the number of seconds in 1 year by 1000:

31,536,000 x 1,000 = 31,536,000,000 seconds.
