A cupcake requires 35 grams of sugar and 50 grams of flour, and a muffin requires 30 grams of sugar and 65
TEA [102]

The inequality that represents the condition based on the number of grams of sugar is 35C + 30M ≥ 460

The inequality that represents the condition based on the number of grams of flour is 50C + 65M ≤ 970

Solution:

Given, a cupcake requires 35 grams of sugar and 50 grams of flour, and a muffin requires 30 grams of sugar and 65 grams of flour.

Shawna needs to use up at least 460 grams of sugar to make cupcakes and muffins, and she wants to use at most 970 grams of flour.

Let C denote the number of cupcakes she makes and M the number of muffins she makes.

Now, let us write an inequality that represents the condition based on the number of grams of sugar.

Total sugar used ≥ 460 grams.

Sugar used for cupcakes + sugar used for muffins ≥ 460 grams

Number of cupcakes x sugar used for 1 cupcake + number of muffins x sugar for 1 muffin ≥ 460

C \times 35 + M \times 30 ≥ 460

35C + 30M ≥ 460

Now let us write an inequality that represents the condition based on the number of grams of flour.

Total flour used ≤ 970 grams.

Flour used for cupcakes + flour used for muffins ≤ 970 grams

Number of cupcakes x flour used for 1 cupcake + number of muffins x flour for 1 muffin ≤ 970

C \times 50 + M \times 65 ≤ 970.

50C + 65M ≤ 970

Hence, the inequalities are 35C + 30M ≥ 460 and 50C + 65M ≤ 970.

Prove the following
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

sin(180°-∅)=sin∅ as its in the 2nd quadrant

then tan(180°-∅)= -tan∅ as its in the 2nd quadrant and there only sin and cosec is positive and at last cos(180°-∅) = -cos∅ for the same reason

so by putting the values:

sin∅/sin∅ + -tan∅/tan∅ + -cos∅/cos∅ =1-1-1= -1

thanks ..

You want to put a 5 inch thick layer of topsoil for a new 28 ft by 14 ft garden. The dirt store sells by the cubic yards. How ma
Levart [38]

Answer: SOLUTION -

Let’s convert first the unit dimension of the garden from inches-feet to yards.

HEIGHT: 4 in * (1 ft / 12 in) = 1/3 ft * (1 yard/3 ft) = 1/9 yard

WIDTH: 28 ft * (1 yard/3 ft) = 28/3 yards

LENGTH: 32 ft * (1 yard/3 ft) = 32/3 yards

Then, let’s get the total soil capacity or volume of the garden:

(32/3) * (28/3) * (1/9) = 896/81 = 11.06 cubic yards

Since we can’t buy 0.06 cubic yard of soil, we need to round off 11.06 to the next number of cubic yards that is exactly divisible by 1/4.

It will give us then with 11 & 1/4 cubic yards.

What is the equation of the quadratic function that has vertex (-3, 1) and passes through the point (-2, 4)?
Marat540 [252]
 • Vertex form: y=a(x-h)^2+k , with (h,k) as the vertex.

For this, we will be using vertex form. Firstly, plug the vertex into the vertex form equation:

y=a(x-(-3))^2+1\\y=a(x+3)^2+1

Next, we need to solve for a. Plug in (-2,4) into the x and y coordinates to solve for a as such:

4=a(-2+3)^2+1\\4=a(1)^2+1\\4=a+1\\3=a

Putting our equation together, it's y=3(x+3)^2+1

*Additional section*

 • Standard form: y=ax^2+bx+c

Converting to standard form as such:

y=3(x+3)^2+1\\y=3(x^2+6x+9)+1\\y=3x^2+18x+27+1\\y=3x^2+18x+28
