All sides of a square are the same so if the length of one is is 11 inches, then all of the sides are 11 inches.
To work out the area of a square you multiply the length and the width.
In this case the sum would be: 11 x 11
The answer to that is 121.
So overall, the answer would be 121 inches.

I'm thinking of a number. This number is 12 less than its square. What could my number be?
omeli [17]

let nwmber to be X

the number is 12 less than it's square,

so X=12-X^2

=> X^2+X-12=0

=> (X+4)(X-3)=0

=>X= 3, or X=-4

in math we don't usually take negative numbers into account so your number would be 3

There is a tall tree in ivas backyard. She thinks it might hit her house if it fell over. She measures that the base of the tree
GrogVix [38]

Answer:

The height of the tree is Greater than 50 feet, so Iva’s house is not safe

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the height of the tree

Let

h ----> the height of the tree

we know that

The tangent of angle of 50 degrees is equal to divide the opposite side to the angle of 50 degrees (height of the tree) by the adjacent side to the angle of 50 degrees (tree’s distance from the house)

so

tan(50°)=h/50

h=(50)tan(50°)=59.6 ft

therefore

The height of the tree is Greater than 50 feet, so Iva’s house is not safe

The intensity, I, of a sound varies inversely with the square of the distance, r, from the source of the sound. Write an equatio
charle [14.2K]

Answer:The equation relating I, r, and k is I =K/r²

Step-by-step explanation:

The intensity, I, of a sound varies inversely with the square of the distance, r, from the source of the sound can be written as

I ∝ 1/r²

Introducing the constant of proportionality, K we have that

I =K x 1/r²

Therefore , the equation relating I, r, and k is I =K/r²
