We know that full  rain barrel has 150,000 mL

so total amount of water given to x plant by Mattie should be equal to full  rain barrel capacity.

Substituting value of full rain barrel capacity and total amount of water given to x plant  

Mathematically it can be written as

total amount of water given to x plant by Mattie = full rain barrel capacity

300*x mL = 150,000 mL

=> x = 150,000/300 = 500

Thus,  500 plants can she water with a full rain barrel.
