Answer:

The end of the visible spectrum the highest frequency/shortest wavelength is blue end.

Explanation:

The energy of a photon is directly proportional to its frequency. That means its inversely proportional to its wavelength.. Green can be right too because in a physical form a photon IS green

Methanol (ch3oh), also called methyl alcohol, is the simplest alcohol. it is used as a fuel in race cars and is a potential repl
erica [24]

Answer:

             %age Yield  =  51.45 %

Solution:

Step 1: Convert Kg into g

68.5 Kg CO  =  68500 g CO

8.60 Kg H₂  =  8600 g

Step 2: Find out Limiting reactant;

The Balance Chemical Equation is as follow;

                                 CO  +  2 H₂    →    CH₃OH

According to Equation,

                   28 g (1 mol) CO reacts with  =  4 g (2 mol) of H₂

So,

                    68500 g CO will react with  =  X g of H₂

Solving for X,

                    X  =  (68500 g × 4 g) ÷ 28 g

                    X  =  9785 g of H₂

It shows 9785 g H₂ is required to react with 68500 g of CO but we are provided with 8600 g of H₂ which is less than required. Therefore, H₂ is provided in less amount hence, it is a Limiting reagent and will control the yield of products.

Step 3: Calculate Theoretical Yield

According to equation,

            4 g (2 mol) H₂ reacts to produce  =  32 g (1 mol) Methanol

So,

                          8600 g H₂ will produce  =  X g of CH₃OH

Solving for X,

                    X  =  (8600 g × 32 g) ÷ 4 g

                     X =  68800 g of CH₃OH

Step 4: Calculate %age Yield

                     %age Yield  =  Actual Yield ÷ Theoretical Yield × 100

Putting Values,

                     %age Yield  =  3.54 × 10⁴ g ÷ 68800 g × 100

                     %age Yield  =  51.45 %

What is produced in a double-displacement reaction?
gregori [183]

The correct answer is option D, that is, two new compounds.

Double displacement also known as double replacement reactions, metathesis or exchange reactions. It take place when two ionic compounds are exchanged forming two new compounds. One can consider the reaction as swapping the anions or the cations.

Water usually functions as the solvent for a double replacement reaction, and the products and reactants are generally ionic compounds, however, they can also be bases or acids. The example of a double replacement reaction is:

BaCl₂ (aq) + Na₂SO₄ (aq) = BaSO₄ (s) + 2NaCl (aq)

In this, the cations are Na⁺ and Ba²⁺, and the anions are SO₄²⁻ and Cl⁻. If the anions or cations are swapped, the products obtained are BaSO₄ and NaCl.

How can I balance this equation? TELL ME HOW you did it and all the steps and you will be the brainliest.
lianna [129]

Answer:

3 CH3CH2OH + 4 H2CrO4 + 6 H2SO4 --> 3 CH3COOH + 2 Cr2(SO4)3 + 13 H2O

Explanation:

To balance, start of with the groups that are common on both sides of the reaction equation;

In this case, these are the SO4 groups treating them as single units;

There are 3 on the right side and 1 on the left side, so we put 3 in front of the H2SO4 to balance this first;

Next, deal with the Cr, there are 2 Cr on the right side and 1 on the other side, so we put a 2 in front of the H2CrO4 to balance that;

Thirdly, we notice the C are already balanced as there are 2 on each side so this is fine;

Lastly, we can deal with the O and H;

Bearing in mind the numbers that are in front of the molecules now from prior balancing, there are 9 O and 16 H on the left side and 3 O and 5 H on the right;

7 H2O on the right side would balance the O, but gives us 18 H, which is 2 too many H;

If we were to put 2 in front of the two organic molecules (the ones with C) on either side, we would balance the O by having 6 H2O, but this gives 2 fewer H than necessary;

In order for the H to balance, we need to have 13/2 (or 6.5) H2O, which means we need 3/2 (or 1.5) in front of each organic molecule;

Since, it is not sensible to have 13/2 water molecules or 3/2 organic molecules, we can just multiply everything by 2;

Thus we end up with:

3 CH3CH2OH + 4 H2CrO4 + 6 H2SO4 --> 3 CH3COOH + 2 Cr2(SO4)3 + 13 H2O

Rules of thumb:

- When there are common chemical groups (e.g. SO4) on both sides of a reaction equation, treat them as single units

- Start of with balancing these common groups

- Thereafter, balance the atoms that appear in only one reactant and one product

- Proceed to balance the atoms that appear in more than one reactant or product

- Typically, you should deal with the O and H last
