5.45-8.7= -3.5
-3.5÷-2.5= 1.3

Since you divided by a negative number switch the signs. So it would be A. the first one

Subtract the 8.7 from the 5.45. then you have -2.5n>-3.25. divide the -2.5 to both sides. it's dividing by a negative, so the sign flips and you get, n<1.3 as your answer

Find the maximum rate of change of f(x,y,z=x y/z at the point (2, -3, 5 and the direction in which it occurs. maximum rate of ch
kherson [118]
f(x,y,z)=x+\dfrac yz
\implies \nabla f(x,y,z)=\left(1,\dfrac1z,-\dfrac y{z^2}\right)
\implies \nabla f(2,-3,5)=\left(1,\dfrac15,\dfrac3{25}\right)

The maximum rate of change is then

\|\nabla f(2,-3,5)\|=\dfrac{\sqrt{659}}{25}

which occurs in the direction of \nabla f(2,-3,5) above.

Pretty hard question
marishachu [46]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

Take x = 1.

Now substitute in the function.

f(1) = 3 + √1

f(1) = 3 + 1

f(1) = 4

Now, we know the line of the function passes through 2 points : (0, 3) and (1, 4). Graph D shows these features.
