Dogs keep themselves cool by panting, rapidly breathing air in and out. Panting results in evaporation from moist tissues of the

airway and lungs, which cools the animal. Measurements show that, on a 35∘C day with a relative humidity of 50%, a 12 kg dog loses 1.0 g of water per minute if it is panting vigorously. What rate of heat loss, in watts, does this achieve?

Answer:

Explanation:

Evaporation results in cooling because water absorbs heat equal to mass times latent heat of evaporation to get converted into vapor .

latent heat of evaporation of water = 2260 x 10³ J / kg or 2260 J / g

in the evaporation of 1 g of water , heat lost = 2260 J

heat lost per minute = 2260 J

heat lost per second = 2260 / 60

= 37.66 J /s

= 37.66 W

So heat lost by dog in watt = 37.66 W.

One student made the incomplete diagram shown below to represent the relationship between igneous rocks, sediments, sedimentary
Kryger [21]

Answer: Option (C)

Explanation: Rock cycle plays an important role in the alteration of rocks from one form to another.

 1. Igneous rocks when undergoes high temperature and pressure condition, it transforms into a metamorphic rock.
 2. Sedimentary rocks are formed from the sedimentation and consolidation of sediments
 3. Igneous rocks are formed due to the crystallization of magma.

Hence the correct answer is option (C)

A student sits on a pivoted stool while holding a pair of weights. The stool is free to rotate about a vertical axis with neglig
Blababa [14]

Answer:

Please Mark As Brainliest!!

a) 4.99 rad/sec b) 6.24 rad/sec c) 7.03 J

Explanation:

a) If the student completes one turn in 1.26 sec, this is called the period of the movement.

If we take into account that the angle rotated during one turn is 2π rads, by definition of angular velocity, we can get this value as follows:

ω = Δθ / Δt = 2*π rad / 1.26 seg = 4.99 rad/sec.

b) As no external torques are acting on the system, the total angular momentum must be conserved, so we can write the following equation:

Li = Lf ⇒ I₁ * ω₁ = I₂* ω₂

So, we can solve for ω₂, as follows:

ω₂ = (I₁ * ω₁) / I₂ = 6.24 rad/sec

c) Appying the work-energy theorem, we know that the work done by the student, must be equal to the change in the kinetic energy, which in this case is only rotational, so we can write:

W = 1/2 I₂* ω₂² - 1/2 I₁ ω₁²

W =1/2 ((2.25 kg.m² * (6.24)²) (rad/sec)² - (1.8 kg.m²* (4.99)²) (rad/sec)²)

W = 7.03 J

Gwar [14]
Newtons 1st law of motion states that the object will continue to move at its present speed and direction until an outside force acts upon it.

So unless the objects inside the car are restrained, they will continue moving at whatever speed the car is traveling at, even if the car is stopped by a crash.
