Please help math question !! need range and domain for each picture thank you so much !
Lera25 [3.4K]

Answer: The correct option for figure 1 is (a) and correct option for figure 2 is (b).

Explanation:

Domain is the set of input and range is the set of output.

If a function is defined by f(x), then all the possible values of x is called domain and all the values of f(x) is called range.

In the figure (1)  the elements of first set is input(Domain) and the elements of second set is output(Range).

The values of first set are -2,-1,0 and 2, so,

Domain = { -2, -1, 0, 2}

The values of second are -4, -2 and 2, so,

Range = { -4, -2, 2}

In figure (2) the values of x and y are given, the values of x are domain and the values of y are range.

The values of x are -4, -2, 1 and 4, so,

Domain = { -4, -2, 1, 4}

The values of y are -2, 1, 4 and 4,, Since the repetition of elements are not allowed in the set so,

Range = { -2, 1, 4}

Therefore, the option (a) is correct for figure (1) and the option (b) is correct for figure (2).

Find the surface area of the figure below. Round to the nearest tenth if necessary.
Contact [7]

Answer:

173.4 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Surface area of the cone=pi*r*l+pi*r^2=pi*(4)*(9.8+4)=173.4 cm^2

A true/false test has 40 questions. Suppose a passing grade is 30 or more correct answers. Test the claim that a student knows m
Angelina_Jolie [31]

Answer:

z≈3.16

p≈0.001

we reject the null hypothesis and conclude that the student knows more than half of the answers and is not just guessing in 0.05 significance level.

Step-by-step explanation:

As a result of step 2, we can assume normal distribution for the null hypothesis

<em>step 3:</em>

z statistic is computed as follows:

z=\frac{X-M}{\frac{\sqrt{p*(1-p)} }{\sqrt{N} } } where

  • X is the proportion of correct answers in the test (\frac{30}{40})
  • M is the expected proportion of correct answers according to the null hypothesis (0.5)
  • p is the probability of correct answer (0.5)
  • N is the total number of questions in the test (40)

z=\frac{0.75-0.50}{\frac{\sqrt{0.5*(0.5)} }{\sqrt{40} } } ≈ 3.16

And corresponding p value for the z-statistic is p≈0.001.

Since p<0.05, we reject the null hypothesis and conclude that the student knows more than half of the answers and is not just guessing in 0.05 significance level.

Gina shows the steps she took to find the solution of the inequality below.
Leviafan [203]

Answer:

hello,2 th made from the wrong place.

because She should have distributed the -2 inside the parentheses.

the process should be like this;

19-2(1-x)<13

17(1-x)<13

17-17x<13

-17x<13-17 (17 goes to the opposite side as -17)

-17x<-4 (we divide each side by 17)

x= -4/-17

I hope you understand. There are errors in the first 2 parts of the question.
