Mitosis - 48 chromosomes (diploid cells)
Meiosis - 24 chromosomes (haploid cells)

Diploid cells. Meiosis is the process of cell division by which involving gametes. Cell division is just the same for sperm and egg cells, but they have distinguishable descriptions and labels in the process. Spermatogenesis is for the males’ sperm cells and oogenesis is the process for females’ egg cells. The cell division of meiosis involves the two phases, respectively meiosis I and meiosis II. Meiosis I like mitosis is the cell division that produces diploid cells. These diploid cells are cells that contain a complete pair of chromosomes which is 46. The result is two diploid cells after the first meiosis. To provide clear explanation, in contrast haploid cells only contain 23 chromosomes and are created after meiosis II which is 4 in number.

Cytoplasm is the clear, gelatinous material found in cells. The cytoplasm takes up a little more than 50 percent of the volume o
Katena32 [7]

Answer:

Gel-like fluid present within the cell membrane (excluding nucleus) is termed as cytoplasm of the cell.

It serves various functions in the cell such as:

 • It supports and hold all the cell organelles and cell parts.
 • It serves as the site of most of the cellular activities or processes.
 • It provides shape to the cell.
 • It contains the cytoskeleton (actin filaments, intermediate filaments, and microtubules) of the cell which helps in maintaining the cell shape, the movement of materials within the cell, cell division and movement of the cell.

Hence, all options are correct except "determines which substances can enter or leave the cell".

Plasma membrane of the cell determines which substances can enter or leave the cell.

In humans, the hormone testosterone enters cells and binds to specific proteins, which in turn bind to specific sites on the cel
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

As a transcription factor

Explanation:

Testosterone is a male sex hormone secreted by the testicles which promote the growth of the male reproductive organs and the male characters like muscle buildup.

The hormone shows the paracrine effect and thus act on the target cell at distant. The mechanism of action of the testosterone is that it controls the gene expression of various other genes.

The testosterone binds the specific proteins which activate the expression of the gene that is they acts as a transcription factor which activates the expression.

Thus, as a transcription factor is correct.
