I really REALLY need the work for these 5 math problems, I can't wrap my brain around how to understand how to do this still and

I have a big test soon :')
1. x + 4 = 2x -6
2. 4(6x + 3) = 2 (4x - 2)
3. 2x + 5 = 21
4. 4(x + 6) - 11 = 25
5. 5(3x + 4) = 2(5x + 7)

Answer:

1.. x  = 10

2.x = -1

3. x = 8

4. x = 3

5. x = - 6/5

Step-by-step explanation:

1.

Move terms

x - 2x + 4 = -6

x - 2x = -6 -6

-x = -6 -4

-x = -10;

x = 10;

2.

24x + 12 = 8x -4

24x - 8x = -4 - 12

16x = -16

x = -1

3.

2x = 21-5

2x = 16

x = 8

4.

4x + 24 - 11 = 25

4x + 13 = 25

4x = 25 - 13

4x = 12

x = 3

5.

15x + 20 = 2(5x + 7)

15x + 20 = 10x + 14

15x - 10x = 14 - 20

5x = -5

x = - 6/5

If a jogger runs 2 miles and burns 185 calories, how many calories would he burn if he jogged 3 miles?
aliina [53]

The total amount of calories burnt in jogging 2 miles = 185 calories

We have to determine the number of calories burned in jogging 3 miles.

Firstly, we will determine the amount of calories burnt in jogging 1 mile. We will use unitary method to evaluate this.

So, the total amount of calories burnt in jogging 1 mile = 185 \div 2

= 92.5 calories

So, the amount of calories burnt in 3 miles = 3 \times 92.5

= 277.5 calories

Therefore, 277.5 calories are burned in jogging 3 miles.

Iago is interested in money. He has a collection of bills in his pocket. He finds that he has two fewer $20 bills than he does $
Colt1911 [192]

Let x be the number of $10 bills in Iago pocket.

1. If he has twice as many $1 bills as $10 bills, then he has (2x) $1 bills.

2. He has two fewer $20 bills than he does $10 bills, then he has (x-2) $20 bills.

3. He has three more $5 bills than $10 bills, then he has (x+3) $5 bills.

In total he has $160 that is x·10+2x·1+(x-2)·20+(x+3)·5.

Equate these two expressions and solve the equation:

x\cdot 10+2x\cdot 1+(x-2)\cdot 20+(x+3)\cdot 5=160,\\ \\10x+2x+20x-40+5x+15=160,\\ \\37x=160+25,\\ \\37x=185,\\ \\x=5.

Thus, he has

  • 5 bills for $10;
  • 10 bills for $1;
  • 3 bills for $20;
  • 8 bills for $5.

Find the product: (30 gallons 3 quarts 1 pint) × 5
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

Please mark me brainliest!!!!!!!

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1:

Multiply each by 5, then make any necessary conversions to the other units of measurement (ie. gallon, quart, etc)

30 gallons x 5= 150 gallons

3 quarts x 5= 15 quarts

1 pint x 5= 5 pints

Step 2:

CONVERSION

1 gallon=4 quarts

1 gallon= 8 pints

1 quart= 2 pints

GALLONS: 150 gallons

QUARTS:

=15 quarts ÷ # quarts in gallon

=15/4= 3 gallons 3 quarts

PINTS:

=5 pints ÷ # pints in quart

=5/2= 2 quarts 1 pints

TOTALS:

150 gallons

3 gallons 3 quarts

2 quarts 1 pint

Since we have 5 additional quarts, and we know that 4 quarts=1 gallon, we need to convert again.

=3 quarts + 2 quarts

=5 quarts ÷ # quarts in gallon

=5/4 = 1 gallon 1 quart

FINAL TOTALS

GALLONS: 150 + 3 + 1= 154 gallons

QUARTS: 1 quart

PINTS: 1 pints

Sue needs to drive 372 miles to visit her aunt. She stopped at a gas station one-third of the way in to her trip. How many miles
IRINA_888 [86]

Answer:

Sue has traveled 124 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, the distance covered by Sue is a fraction of the total distance to be covered.

The total distance to her aunt's = 372 miles

but the gas station is at one-third of the distance to be covered.

Thus,

Miles traveled by Sue = \frac{1}{3} x 372

                                    = 124

Miles traveled by Sue = 124 miles.

Therefore Sue has traveled 124 miles.
