- Long term effects

Chronic drug use can alter a person’s brain structure and function, resulting in long-term psychological effects, such as: depression, anxiety, panic disorders, increased aggression, paranoia, hallucinations.

- Cardiovascular disease

Stimulants, such as cocaine and methamphetamines, can damage the heart and blood vessels. The long-term use of these drugs can lead to coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, and heart attack.

- Respiratory problems

Drugs that people smoke or inhale can damage the respiratory system and lead to chronic respiratory infections and diseases. Opioids slow a person’s breathing by binding to specific receptors in the central nervous system that regulate respiration. By depressing a person’s respiration, these drugs can lead to slow breathing or heavy snoring.

- Kidney damage

The kidneys filter excess minerals and waste products from the blood. Heroin, ketamine, and synthetic cannabinoids can cause kidney damage or kidney failure.

- Liver disease

Chronic drug and alcohol use can damage the liver cells, leading to inflammation, scarring, and even liver failure.

- Overdose

Taking too much of a drug or taking multiple drugs together can result in an overdose. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), drug overdose caused 67,367 deathsTrusted Source in the United States in 2018. Opioids contributed to nearly 70% of these deaths.

How to get help:

Finding the right treatment program can be a daunting task. Here are a few things to think about when seeking treatment for drug abuse, misuse, or addiction:

consider whether inpatient or outpatient services would be the best fit

A 4.0 g sample of iron was heated from 0°C to 20.°C. It absorbed 35.2 J of energy as heat. What is the specific heat of this pie
Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

Explanation:i joule is equal to 0.238902957619 calories so 1251 joules is equal to 298.87 calories divided by 25.0 degrees centigrade is equal to 11.95 calories divided by the 35.2 gram sample weight to get the calories per gram per degree centigrade would come to 0.3396 calories/gram degree centigrade. Presumably this, if correct, could be used to obtain the metal in question by consulting a chart or table with specific heats of various metals because they should always be the same specific heat for each metal.

How many grams of CO2 are in 11 mol of the compound?
GrogVix [38]
Well the molar mass of CO2 would be that 1 mol of CO2 would have the mass of 44.0 grams. So 11 mol of CO2 would have 11 • 44 or 484 grams.

When the same quantity of electricity was passed through a dilute solution of sodium hydroxide and through a molten solution of
olga_2 [115]

0.050 moles of hydrogen gas are liberated when a given quantity of charge liberates 0.050 moles of lead.

What amount in moles of hydrogen will be produced?

The amount in moles of hydrogen produced when the same quantity of electricity is passed through different electrolytes is inversely proportional to the charge on the ions.

The charge on the Lead ion is +2.

The charge on the hydrogen ion is +1.

2 atoms of hydrogen gives one molecule of hydrogen gas.

Hence, equal charge liberates equal amounts in moles of lead and hydrogen gas.

Therefore, 0.050 moles of hydrogen gas are liberated when a given quantity of charge liberates 0.050 moles of lead.

If 155 J of heat energy is applied to a block of silver weighing 27.9 g, by how many degrees will the temperature of the silver
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

The temperature of silver increase by 23.15 °C.

Explanation:

Given data:

Heat added = 155 j

Mass of silver = 27.9 g

How many degree temperature increase = ?

Solution:

Specific heat capacity:

It is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one gram of substance by one degree.

Specific heat capacity of silver is = 0.240 j/g.°C

Formula:

Q = m.c. ΔT

Q = amount of heat absorbed or released

m = mass of given substance

c = specific heat capacity of substance

ΔT = change in temperature

Now we will put the values in formula.

155 j = 27.9 g × 0.240 j/g.°C × ΔT

155 j = 6.696 j/°C × ΔT

ΔT = 155 j /6.696 j/°C

ΔT = 23.15 °C
