Find b and s. At The present time Mrs. B's age is six years more than four times her sons age. Three years ago she was seven tim
padilas [110]

Answer:

Mrs. B's age = y = 38 years

her son's age = x = 8 years

Step-by-step explanation:

To Find:

Mrs. B's age = y =?

her son's age = x = ?

Solution:

Let Mrs. B's age  be 'y' years

and her son's age be 'x' years

Three years ago Mrs B's will be (y - 3) and her son's age will be (x - 3)

According to the first given condition,

y = 6 + 4x ...............Equation ( 1 )

According to the second given condition,

(y - 3 ) = 7 (x - 3 )..........Equation ( 2 )

equating equation 1 in equation 2 we get

6 + 4x -3 = 7x - 21

7x - 4x = 21 + 3

∴ 3x=24\\\therefore x =\frac{24}{3} \\\\\therefore x =8\ years

Now substitute x in equation 1 we get

y = 6 + 4×8

y = 6 + 32

∴ y = 38 years

Mrs. B's age = y = 38 years

her son's age = x = 8 years

If the person borrowed $3000 for 3 years at a rate of 2%, how much interest will they owe for the loan
krek1111 [17]

In this case were going to solve the question using "simple interst", so since were looking for the interest it will be I= PxRxT (I stands for "interest", P stands for "principal", R stands for "rate" and T stands for "time")

so P is $3000

R is 2%

and T is 3 years

so we'll have to turn our rate into a decimal which is 2% = .02

now to start the problem:

I= (3000)(.02)(3)       (means 3000 x .02 x 3)

I= $180  is your answer

a new statue with a circular base is being unveiled in a downtown park. the statue base has a radius of 8 feet. round your answe
fiasKO [112]
I believe you are asking for the area of the statue base.

r^2x3.14 = area of a circle

8 x 8 = 64

64 x 3.14 = 200.96
200.96 rounded = 201

The area of the statue base is 201 square feet.
