During a practice shot put throw, the 7.9-kg shot left world champion C. J. Hunter's hand at speed 16 m/s. While making the thro

w, his hand pushed the shot a distance of 1.4 m. Assume the acceleration was constant during the throw.
Required:
a. Determine the acceleration of the shot.
b. Determine the time it takes to accelerate the shot.
c, Determine the horizontal component of the force exerted on the shot by hand.

Answer:

a)   a = 91.4 m / s²,  b)    t = 0.175 s, c)

Explanation:

a) This is a kinematics exercise

           v² = vox ² + 2a (x-xo)

           a = v² - 0/2 (x-0)

let's calculate

          a = 16² / 2 1.4

          a = 91.4 m / s²

b) the shooting time

          v = vox + a t

          t = v-vox / a

          t = 16 / 91.4

          t = 0.175 s

c) let's use Newton's second law

          F = ma

          F = 7.9 91.4

          F = 733 N

MAXImum [283]

Answer:

10 kg.m/s

Explanation:

The momentum of an object can be found by using the formula

momentum = mass × velocity

From the question we have

momentum = 20 × 0.5

We have the final answer as

10 kg.m/s

Hope this helps you

You are 2.4 m from a plane mirror, and you would like to take a picture of yourself in the mirror. You need to manually adjust t
sveticcg [70]

Answer:

4.8 m

Explanation:

A mirror is a reflecting surface on which rays of light are reflected. Reflection occurs when a ray of light bounces off a surface, coming back into the original medium.

There exists two types of mirrors:

- Flat mirrors: they consist of a flat surface

- Curved mirrors: they consist of curved surfaces. They are further divided into convex mirrors and concave mirrors.

For a flat mirror, the image produced from the mirror is always:

- Virtual (on the other side of the mirror)

- Of the same size as the object

- Laterally inverted

- Upright (same orientation as the object)

Moreover, the image produced by a flat mirror is at the same distance from the mirror as the object.

So in this case, since the person is 2.4 m from the mirror, then the image is produced 2.4 m from the mirror (but on the other side).

This means that the total distance between you and your image in the mirror is:

d = 2.4 + 2.4 = 4.8 m

Therefore, the focus of the camera must be adjusted to be at 4.8 m.

Violet light has a frequency of 7.26 × 1014 Hz and travels at a speed of 3.00 × 108 m/s.
Oliga [24]
The relation between frequency, F, and wave length, L of the light is:

F = c / L, where c is the speed of light

Then, L = c / F = 3.00 x 10^8 m/s / 7.26 x 10^14 s^-1 = 0.413 x 10^ -6 m = 4.13 x 10 ^-7 m
