A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pair of parallel sides, opposite sides are in equal length, opposite angles are of equal measure. Diagonals of parallelogram bisect each other.

Observe the given figure,

We need to prove that WXYZ is a parallelogram.

XW must be congruent to YZ as in parallelogram opposite are equal(congruent).

Similarly, WZ must be congruent to XY as in parallelogram opposite sides are equal(congruent).

By proving the opposite sides of a quadrilateral as congruent or of equal measure. We can say that the given quadrilateral is a parallelogram.

Determine whether the sequence below is a geometric sequence and, if so, find a formula that describes the sequence. 1, 3, 9, 27
r-ruslan [8.4K]

a geometric sequence is a bunch of numbers where you can get from a number to the next number by multiplying the previous number by a certain number

might be confusing so here's an example

1,2,4,8,16

each term is multiplied by 2 to get next term, that number that each term is multiplied by is called the common ratio

formula for geometric sequence is

a_n=a_1(r)^{n-1}

where a_n is nth term

a_1 is first term

r is teh common ratio

n=which term

in our example

1,3, 9, 27, 81

each term is being multiplied by 3 so it is a geometric sequence and thus r=3

also first term is 1 so a_1=1

so the formula is a_n=1(3)^{n-1} or in function notation f(n)=1(3)^{n-1}

The compound interest on the account with .01% interest rate in 5 years
Alina [70]

Answer:

The interest generated will be $ 51.20.

Step-by-step explanation:

To determine the compound interest on the account with 0.01% interest rate in 5 years compounded quarterly with an initial deposit of $ 1,000, the following calculation must be performed:

1,000 x (1 + 0.01 / 4) ^ 4x5 = X

1,000 x (1 + 0.0025) ^ 20 = X

1,000 x 1.0025 ^ 20 = X

1,000 x 1.05120 = X

1,051.20 = X

1,051.20 - 1,000 = 51.20

Therefore, the interest generated will be $ 51.20.
