From the given question we come to know of certain number of facts and they are:
At 1:00 PM the water level of the pond was = 13 inches
At 1:30 PM the water level of the pond was = 18 inches
At 2:30 PM the water level of the pond was = 28 inches
From the above given facts we can easily find the amount of water changing every half an hour.
Amount of increase in water from 1:00PM to 1:30 PM = (18 - 13) inches
                                                                                       = 5 inches
Amount of increase in water level from 1:30PM to 2:30PM = (28 -18) inches
                                                                                             = 10 inches
From the above two deductions we can come to the conclusion the the constant rate of change in water level is 5 inches for every half an hour.

Express 10.9090909091... as a rational number, in the form pq where p and q are positive integers with no common factors.
Alexeev081 [22]
Firts, Let x be the repeated decimal that we are trying to convert , so x=10.9090909090 equation (1)

Next, lets find how many digits are repeating:
It is pretty cleat that 90 is repeating, and 90 has two digits. So we are going to multiply our equation by 100 to move the decimal point two places:
100x=1090.90909090 (2)

Subtract equation (1) from equation (2):
100x-x=1090.90909090-10.90909090
99x=1080

Solve for x
x= \frac{1080}{99}

We can conclude that 10.9090909091... expressed as a rational number, in the form pq where p and q are positive integers with no common factors, is \frac{1080}{99}.
