the formula is a^2+b^2=c^2

A and B are the sides doesn't matter which

C is always across from the right angle

so fill x in accordingly

4^2+3^2=x^2

16+9=

25= x^2

square root both 25 and x^2

25 becomes 5

x^2 becomes x

x=5

and just apply this to the other problems

How would i do number 2?
vekshin1

Answer:

m=2

Step-by-step explanation:

When you put a number into the inverse of a function (f^-1) you get the original number back.

Ex: f^-1(11) = (11-3)/2 = 4

f(4) = 2×4+3 = 11

So, f(-5)=-2

So, when x is -5,

f(x) = -2

f(x)=m(-5)+8

-2=m(-5) + 8

m=2

A plane leave an airport and flies due north. (more in photo)
galina1969 [7]

Answer:

104 miles (nearest whole number)

Step-by-step explanation:

Applying Pythagorean theorem which is: c² = a² + b². Where,

c = distance between the two planes = ?

a = distance of the first plane from the airport = 80 - 1 = 79 miles

b = distance of the second plane from the airport = 68 - 1 = 67 miles

c² = 79² + 67²

c² = 10,730

c = √10,730

c = 103.585713

c = 104 miles (nearest whole number)
