The answer I got was (8,25). All you have to do is plug the x and y values into the equation and see if they are equal.

There are 2 ways
1st way:
Since there are 8 5 point problems, 38 - 8 = 30, will give you the 2 point problems.

2nd way: 
8 x 5 = 40
100 - 40 = 60
60 / 2 = 30
Thus there are 30, 2 point problems.
