Answer:

This chapter provides a historical framework for consideration of today’s debates over privatization. Changes in policies and practices are never free of the inertia of history. Some of the key pressures for change today have resulted from past action (or inaction), and today’s practices have evolved from specific problem-solving histories.

Efforts to provide safe drinking water and wastewater disposal facilities date back to the origins of civilization (Rosen, 1993; Winslow, 1952). Ancient societies in Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, Pakistan, Crete, and Greece all sought to provide safe drinking water and safe means of human waste disposal. Why do historians need to study geography?
lisabon 2012 [21]
Geography influences our life now and it did so in the past. Because of this it helps understand the reasons for some events.

For example geography helps you understand why ancient Greece was composed of many small independent city-states rather than one empire: Greece is composed of many islands and valleys separated by mountains, and it was easy to defend those settlements so they were not conquered by other settlements ( as it was the case in other countries).

<span>A strong study establishes validity because it is important that the researcher measures what he or she intends to measure.
Validity in a study means that it is logical, sound, and reasonable - that the researcher has done his or her job properly, measured everything correctly, and has come to certain conclusions which could be proven and checked if necessary.
