Answer:

2 1/4 pints

Step-by-step explanation:

create a ratio with the fact there are 16 ounces in 1 cup

let 'p' = number of pints

<u> 16 </u> = <u> 36 </u>

 1         p

cross-multiply:  16p = 36

                            p = 36/ 16, which is 9/ 4, or 2 1/4

Help solve equations by completing the square
Allushta [10]

x^2+10x+22=13\\x^2+10x+22-13=0\\x^2+10x+9=0\\

Now completing the square.

(x^2+10x)+9=0\\(x^2+10x+25)+9-25=0\\(x+5)^2-16=0\\(x+5)^2=16

(x+5)² = 16 is the rewritten equation... For first question btw.

For the solutions to the equation -

x+5=\sqrt{16},-\sqrt{16} \\x+5=4,-4\\x=4-5,-4-5\\x=-1,-9

x = -1,-9 is the solution, for the second question.

The graph<span> of an </span>inequality in two variables<span> is the set of points that represents all solutions to the </span>inequality<span>.

A </span>linear inequality<span> divides the coordinate plane into </span>two <span>halves by a boundary line where one half represents the solutions of the </span>inequality. The boundary line is dashed for > and < and solid for ≤ and ≥.<span>A way to solve a linear system algebraically is to use the substitution method.

Two equations that have the same solution are called equivalent<span> equations e.g. The addition </span>property<span> of equality tells us that adding the same number to.
