Answer:

13%

Step-by-step explanation:

Percent increase is solved as such:

Percent Increase =  %∧ = (\frac{New~Amount~-~Original~Amount}{Original~Amount}) ~*~10

%∧ = (\frac{77~-~68}{68}) ~*~100 = (\frac{9}{68}) ~*~100 = 0.13 * 100 = 13\%

Remember you want to know what percentage the difference is compared to how much your original amount is.

Hope this helps :)

Add the fractions together to find the portion who like basketball, soccer and football.

=1/3 + 1/8 + 5/12
need a common denominator (24)

=8/24 + 3/24 + 10/24
=21/24

simplify by 3
=7/8 like basketball, football & soccer

7/8 is the total for basketball, soccer and football. If 8/8 represents the whole class, then subtract 7/8 from 8/8 to find the number who like baseball.

=8/8 - 7/8
=1/8 of the remainder likes baseball

If (ax^2 + 3x + 2b) - (5x^2+bx-3c)=3x^2-9, what is the value of A + B + C?
Rina8888 [55]

Answer:

We have the equation:

(ax^2 + 3x + 2b) - (5x^2+bx-3c)=  3x^2 - 9

First, move all to the left side.

(ax^2 + 3x + 2b) - (5x^2+bx-3c) - 3x^2 + 9 = 0

Now let's group togheter terms with the same power of x.

(a - 5 - 3)*x^2 + (3 - b)*x + (2b + 3c + 9) = 0.

This must be zero for all the values of x, then the things inside each parenthesis must be zero.

1)

a - 5 - 3 = 0

a = 3 + 5 = 8.

2)

3 - b = 0

b = 3.

3)

2b + 3c + 9 = 0

2*3 + 3c + 9 = 0

3c = -6 - 9 = -15

c = -15/3 = -5

Then we have:

a = 8, b = 3, c = -5

a + b + c = 8 + 3 - 5 = 6
